Hy Truong Son

Prof. Truong-Son Hy is currently a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at University of Alabama at Birmingham, United States. He has obtained his PhD in Computer Science from University of Chicago, United States. Prior to his current faculty appointment, he has been a tenure-track faculty in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Indiana State University, and a Lecturer and Postdoctoral Fellow in the Halicioglu Data Science Institute at University of California San Diego in the USA. During his PhD study, he has done several internships at Google and Facebook. HySonLab, Prof. Truong-Son Hy's group, focuses on AI for Science and Engineering, Bioinformatics, Drug Discovery, Drug Repurposing, Natural Language Processing and Computer Vision for medical applications.
